NOTE: This section of The Cumbria Way has been affected by floods. The Grade II listed stone arched Bell Bridge over the River Caldew (NY365430), built in 1772, was badly damaged by the December 2015 flood and collapsed at the end of January 2016. The Cumbria Way is expected to remain closed here until Autumn 2017

The route described below follows an alternative route between the approach to Bell Bridge (NY366429) and Rose Bridge (NY374459) avoiding the obstruction

Further information on the duration of the closure can obtained from Cumbria Highways on 03003 032992
